Do you worship the Creator or creation?

There is enough proof of God’s might and greatness all around us. All one needs to do is just pay close attention to the things all around. From the tinniest of things to the largest of them God’s creative fingerprints are written over all creation. One can see the precision, level of detail and keenness in everything.

The Book of Genesis is the first book in the Bible which accounts for the process and duration it took God to create all things in heaven and earth, from the first day to the seventh day. The Bible says in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.” And evening passed and morning came, marking the first day in Genesis 1:1-5 NLT. God created all things in six days and rested on the seventh day and saw that it was very good. Meaning He liked what He had created. So the creation of the heavens and the earth and everything in them was completed. On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work Genesis 2:1-2 NLT.

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse Romans 1:20 NIV. In the world today, there are so many theories that try to deny the existence of the creator with all sorts of unimaginable theories. But most lack evidence, credibility, reality and authenticity. These ideologies are all a creation of mankind of whom himself is created by God as seen in Genesis 1:27 NIV So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

God made everything with so much precision and intention. Each created thing is so unique on its own way, that denying the existence of the Creator is in itself appalling. Many people selectively acknowledge creation, but never acknowledge God who is the Creator. As a matter of fact, so many theories keep coming up to try to discredit creation as created by God. But God’s word is final. It never fails, it always prevails from days past, present and to the future. Hebrews 11:3 NLT says, By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. Everything that exists today was created, nothing that is created itself.

God has created so much beauty that the human eye can behold and beyond, but there is so much more that we do not see that He has created. There is no doubt God is the Master Crafter, The Master Creative Himself is God the Creator of Heaven and Earth. Isn’t it awesome that He said let there be and there was? And that we can all witness with our eyes His creativity? The beauty of God’s creation is everywhere. It can be seen, sensed, smelled and felt. We can see the beauty of God’s creation to the extent that many people today, somehow worship the creation as god. The Bible says They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen Romans 1:25 NLT.

The world today is filled with all kinds of ideologies, religions, cults and various forms of worship of idols and creation, which is in direct rebellion and disobedience to the commands of God. Deuteronomy 6:5-6 NIrV says, Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your strength. The commandments I give you today must be in your hearts. God directly warned the Israelites through Moses in the 10 commandments that “You must not have any other god but me. “You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected-even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me. But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands Exodus 20:3-6 NLT.

Generations past worshipped idols and sinned against God’s command in the days of Noah, Moses, Abraham and Solomon. The same sinful patterns continues today in this modern world. Mankind in his fallen state continues in sin and rebellion. Many people worship the sun. Many people worship the universe. Many people worship the earth. Many people worship the stars. Many people worship the trees. Many people worship the plants. Many people worship stones and rocks. Many people worship their deceased ancestors. Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Romans 1:28-31 NIV.

Today, many people worship there careers, money, fame, contacts, looks, achievements and ambitions. The Bible warns of the dangers of worshipping Idols and creating gods of your own imagination. anyone who disobeys God and practices sin will not enter the kingdom of God. Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, or males who have sex with males, no thieves, greedy people, drunkards, verbally abusive people, or swindlers will inherit God’s kingdom.1 Corinthians 6:9-10 CSB.

 The Bible warns us that Faith in anything other than Jesus Christ will lead to death and eternal separation from God, but God being full of compassion and love has given us life through Christ Jesus. Romans 6:23 CSB For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Today, is an opportunity to have a relationship with the creator through His son Jesus Christ of whom there is forgiveness of sins and salvation into eternal life.
