To understand the gospel, one has to understand God’s will. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. John 3:16-18.
This is the gospel of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the only begotten son of God. Fully man and fully God, born in Bethlehem of Judea. Matthew 1:18 NLT This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit. The gospel reveals the hidden mystery of God in Jesus Christ. The Good News is about his Son. In his earthly life he was born into King David’s family line, and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord Romans 1:3-4 NLT. He is manifested in the flesh for the redemption and salvation of mankind. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth John 1:14 ESV.
The gospel is simple: Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous Romans 5:18-19. The gospel is about the gift of God’s grace. The hope and joy offered through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead 1 Peter 1:3 ESV. He is the key to eternity. ” Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is made right in God’s sight-something the law of Moses could never do Acts 13:38-39 NLT. The gospel also warns us of the dangers of unbelief and doubt. The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him John 3:35-36 ESV
This same Jesus Christ is alive today and He has the power to save from the condemnation of sin and death through Faith in his death and resurrection. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, Ephesians 2:8 ESV. God has therefore exalted his son and given him authority over all things in heaven and on earth. Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, Philippians 2:9 NIV.
Through the hope found in his death and resurrection many will be saved. This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses Acts 2:32 ESV. God’s grace is extended to all mankind, by the offering of Jesus Christ, his only begotten son as a sacrifice for the remission of sins. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners Romans 5:8 NLT. It is a call to repentance and holy living. Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out Acts 3:19 ESV. The gospel offers a chance to all, for it’s not God’s will for anyone to perish, but for all to come to repentance. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners Romans 5:6 NLT. It’s a continuous reminder of God’s mercies “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13.This gospel, is to be preached to all mankind before Christ returns for it has the power to save. This is the gospel that the whole world needs to know about, for in him alone there is salvation. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 NIV.
Jesus saves from hell, many are blind to this truth. Many people assume there are many paths to heaven and that being good on earth can save, but that is biblically incorrect. For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he is doing. In fact, the Father will show him how to do even greater works than healing this man. Then you will truly be astonished. For just as the Father gives life to those he raises from the dead, so the Son gives life to anyone he wants John 5:20-21 NLT. Through Jesus Christ all who are born again are adopted into the kingdom of God as sons of God. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God John 1:12 ESV.
This is the gospel we repeat, Jesus Christ, who lived his life on earth without sin and paid for all our sins in full on the cross. Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil, and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. Hebrews 2:14-15.
In conclusion, Jesus is the only way to the Father and this is the only gospel that needs to be preached. John 14:6 ESV Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Jesus Christ offers a way for mankind to be reunited to God. Since the fall of mankind through Adam’s disobedience till now, sin is rampant, all mankind has sinned and continues to sin against the commands of God. No one can be saved by their own merits. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard Romans 3:23 NLT. And because of Adam and Eve’s disobedience all mankind is born into sin When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned Romans 5:12 NLT. Therefore, everyone deserves the penalty of death, but through Jesus Christ there is forgiveness of sin. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord Romans 6:23. He is the perfect sacrifice for all of our sins.
Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins Hebrews 9:22 ESV. Meaning that, For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time Hebrews 10:10 NLT. Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant Hebrews 9:15 ESV. God’s plan was for man to have fellowship with him as intended in the beginning of creation in the book of Genesis chapters 1 and 2.
Remember there is no salvation without repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, and only Jesus Christ has the power to save. And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit Acts 2:38.
