“Child come, approach the throne of grace” says the LORD!
That is why the LORD says, “Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the LORD your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish. Joel 2:12-13.
From the beginning of creation, God made a perfect world. The Bible says in Genesis 1:31 He saw it was very good. God created Man after His own image and likeness, of course not physical likeness since God is a Spirit. He had direct fellowship with the first man and woman, Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. Until sin crept in through the deception of Satan, a fallen Angel who was named Lucifer(Revelations 12:9, Ezekiel 28:12-19, Isaiah 14:12-17) which led to the fall of mankind due to their own disobedience against God’s commands in (Genesis 2:15-17). God commanded them not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and through the deception of Satan in Genesis 3 they fell into disobedience which led to sin and the penalty of death. God warned Adam saying that when they eat of it they will surely die(Genesis 2:17). This is the origin of all sin. the Bible says the wages of sin is death, meaning God being Holy He has to punish sin. sin is the breaking of God’s laws(1 John 3:4).
Romans 5:12 When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.
Now, God has already paid all the debt for our sins by the finished work of the cross where Jesus Christ was crucified. you might ask why did God have to die for us? that’s a good question. All those who have sinned have broken the laws of God and deserve the punishment of Death(Romans 6:23), but God by His love and grace through Jesus Christ, He came as man born of a woman under the law and by His death and resurrection He defeated both death and sin (Galatians 4:4, Hebrews 2:14, John 1:14). He died and resurrected victorious over death and sin(Romans 5:6). Through His sacrifice, we can now be rejoined to God in Faith. By his shed blood he has atoned for all our sins and of the whole world(1 John 2:2). Because of Jesus Christ, we can now enjoy the privilege of entering God’s presence in confidence. Isn’t this wonderful news.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Brethren, the Bible says in Romans 10:13 whosever calls upon the name of Lord shall be saved. Whether African, European, Latino, Asian, American, Arabic, Caribbean, rich or poor. It does not matter where you come from or what has happened to you or you have done. Through faith in Jesus Christ you become a child of the Most High God. The Creator of Heaven and Earth. And its for all who will believe in the son of God, Jesus Christ. This requires humility and repentance. There can not be the forgiveness of sin without repentance.
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26
Hebrews 4:16 is saying Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Brethren, God sent Jesus to die for our sins not because we loved him but because he loved us. God is love. God loves us and He remains true to his word. God is Faithful, merciful, gracious and kind, even when we stray away from Him He stays till the end and never leaves us. Take a moment and let that sink in. What God is offering us all is a gift of everlasting life together with him in eternity, but this requires a change in our hearts by choosing to humble ourselves in sorrowful repentance from sin, and by putting our faith in Jesus Christ. It is sin that stains our relationship with God, it drives a wedge between us. Sin leads to rebellion and disobedience. It is our desires that defile us according to the Bible. It hurts God to see his creations rebelling and continuously choosing things that He knows are harmful to us.
James 1:14-15 NLT Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.
God’s desire for us is to be fruitful and to be dependent upon him as our eternal provider and Heavenly Father. God’s plan for our lives has always been to prosper us and to give us a future together with him, but sinful desires from within our hearts lead us astray from God’s perfect will for our lives, when we rebel and walk away from him. This happens because of pride and greed, humans are continually hoarding and seeking material gain outside God’s will.
Mark 7:21-23 For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
God is loving, kind, merciful, gracious and patient not forgetting that God is righteous, Just and a God of Order. He will and must punish sin. God’s love towards us does not shift or change he loves us all equally and unconditionally. God shows no partiality, He does not love one more that the other. In these last days He is calling all people everywhere to repent and believe in His son, Jesus Christ for the salvation of their souls. He still desires a relationship with each and every of our hearts. That is why by his mercies, He has given us a way to be reunited to Him through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, so no one has an excuse. For whoever repents and believes in Him shall be saved.
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners Romans 5:8.
The Bible says, He formed each one of us in our mothers womb and that before we were born, he knew each and everyone of us. No one is here on earth by mistake. your life, my life is not by mistake. Of course, we all go through traumatic and challenging circumstances due to sin and the fall of man, and we make many mistakes by chasing after sinful desires and living according to these lusts. But, God is very intentional. God knows each and everyone on the face of this planet very well, and has always known us. He is reaching out to all people, for time is running out as the end of the world quickly approaches. As a good Father, He of course does not want anyone to perish, but He cannot force anyone into obedience. Each one must choose for themselves to return to the One who loves us to the end.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8-9
Salvation is a gift from God through Faith in Christ Jesus. That does not mean we continue living in sinful habits forsaking the truth of God’s word which requires obedience to Christ’s teachings. God has given mankind the power to choose for themselves, and if one chooses to condemn themselves to Hell then its by their own choice to live in eternity apart from God’s presence in utter darkness.
Acts 3:19 says “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out,”
There is nothing too hard for God and no mistake too grave for God to forgive, except of course the blasphemy of the Holy spirit. However, when we sin knowingly we are telling God that we do not care about the sacrifice that was made at Calvary through our LORD Jesus Christ and that is dangerous because it saying no to God’s mercy and refusing grace. Now to any person struggling, I want to encourage you today, make the decision to not let sin take you further away from God’s presence and perfect will for your life. The good news is that God is always waiting for your return, for his arms are wide open. Just like the prodigal son returning to his Fathers house, he was met with a feast and not punishment, so also will the Heavens rejoice at the return a sinner.
Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins. Ecclesiastes 7:20
Yes people sin and make mistakes, this world is a broken place. People who are broken can easily break others. It’s easy to deny God’s existence not because he does not exist but because it is convenient for our sinful comfort. Sinful desires offer temporary satisfaction and solutions to internal problems that only the creator can completely heal. sinful solutions only lead to a path of destruction.
Today’s generations are unfortunately too comfortable and love their sin too much, everyone wants to be their own gods and that path only leads to more pain, brokenness and destruction in the world. When you try to seek your identity in the validation of this world you will never find rest. When people treat you poorly and make you feel like your life is worthless, that is the complete opposite of what God says about you. God is saying you are important and that you were bought with the precious blood of Jesus. Do not turn back from the only one who can truly set you free and heal your wounds today. Come just as you are before his presence and He will show the great depths of His love for you.
God is saying to you today in Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.”
Let us all cry before the LORD for the sake of our generations and generations to come. Let us get on our knees and pray and seek God’s face in repentance. Let us ask God to renew us and realign us to his perfect will. Let us all seek God while he can still be found brothers and sisters, the time is now to approach his throne of grace for mercy. May the Almighty and Faithful God, Father of Our LORD Jesus Christ bless you and keep you in peace that surpasses all standing through Christ Our Lord!
Amen.
Psalm 51:10. says “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”
