A reason for every season!

A reason for every season!

As for me, I look to the LORD for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me. Micah 7:7 NLT

Each new day under the sun brings with it many possibilities and potential for something new, but nobody really ever knows what it leads to. No one can control that, but one can use it as an opportunity for growth and change. Unprecedented change happens to all of us, one might even argue that sometimes change comes upon us too fast when we are not yet in a combat position, to tackle such situations. No one on the face of this earth likes not knowing what’s going to happen next, and having no control over his or her own circumstances. Believers on the other hand are required to live their lives with a different perspective, because the Bible teaches the opposite of control, it teaches Faith in the unseen (2 Corinthians 5:7 for we walk by faith, not by sight). Hebrews 11 teaches about Faith. Faith in what can be seen is no longer Faith, but Faith in that which can not be seen yet brings Hope. God uses every season we go through in life to teach us, refine and shape us into the men and women He has called us to be in every generation for His good works and Glory.

So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold-though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. 1 Peter 1:6-7 NLT

The waiting Season is a preparation season. Sometimes, it’s hard to see it or perceive what’s happening while you’re going through rough patches in life. These seasons require honesty, realness, steadfastness and firm walk in Faith as you trust in the Lord Jesus. It is during trials and testing that either our Faith stands firm or waivers. All of us go through various seasons in life which test our Faith in God. What is your heart posture towards God during these kinds of seasons?

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

I believe, for every season there is a reason. God uses all seasons whether good or bad for the better. It is impossible to grow in Faith without going through various seasons in life, because they shape your character and mold you into the person God wants you to be. So you should never dread the unknowns, because your Faith is built through such seasons. Only Faith that exists can be sharpened for the better and tuned into God’s perfect will of looking at life in each season.

Romans 5:3-4 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,  and endurance produces character, and character produces hope

Many times, when we can’t understand or see what is happening in life, it’s best to hold on to the truth of God’s word. We have to be able to focus on God’s truth and not what we see or feel,  because God desires that we trust in him fully including in the seasons of great sufferings to the point that we even rejoice in them not because they are easy, but because we know who He is. When we know Him to be Faithful and true to His promises, and that He never Fails nor changes. We can walk faithfully towards Him and face our circumstances in boldness. we can still trust in His Goodness and Faithfulness to deliver us from all.

( Isaiah 26:4 Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.)

It’s very Important to remember that present challenges are not greater than the glory to come as quoted in Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. The Bible does equip believers in Jesus Christ with a great foundation for walking through difficult seasons in life but it does not take away tough seasons. Difficulties in life do not take away the promises of God and neither does God’s promises take away difficulties in life. God’s promises and words do not change no matter how difficult it looks and hard it feels. So, believers have to keep that in mind while waiting and going through difficult seasons. Keep trusting Him even as you walk through the valley of death because He is there with you as you cross over. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.  Psalm 23:4
Jesus started his ministry 30 years after he was born. After He was baptized the Holy Spirit let him into the wilderness for 40 days and nights, where He was tempted by the Devil. All this was for a purpose. Everything Jesus did and went through served a purpose as God had intended. My friends, God is very intentional, nothing happens by accident and neither does anything pass Him by without Him knowing. So when we go through rough seasons God is also aware of what is happening.

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5.

Moses was in the wilderness 40 years before God sent him to Egypt to tell Pharaoh to “Let my people go”. He was in the wilderness for that long for a reason. David was a shepherd, a servant and he played music for king Saul before he became king for a reason. Joseph was hated and sold by his brothers into slavery to Egypt, accused falsely and put in prison before he became a great person in the land of Egypt for a reason. There is a reason for every season that God takes you through, Its for him to know and for you to trust that his thoughts towards you are always for good.

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

The Bible tells us that God requires us to have faith in him. without Faith we can not please Him. (Hebrews 11:1,6 now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen, and without faith it is impossible to please him for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.)Do not be in a hurry to change your mind when you can’t see yet God’s response. Do not assume God has left you when things get tough, do not turn away from the Lord when life gets challenging. The question for all of us is, are we willing to stay faithful to the end? Are we able to still love the Lord and are we able to trust in God?

Life will throw challenges towards us, in some seasons we will gain and in some we will lose. What matters the most is our attitude towards God and towards the seasons we face. To be able to overcome we have to remain firmly rooted in Jesus Christ.

Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. Colossians 2:7 NLT

Many believers get easily dragged back into the world when they face storms in life. The enemy presents shiny, nice looking offers to many making people run away from the faith thinking it’s easier in the world only ending up smearing themselves with more sinful and hurtful things, which ends up leading to more brokenness, consequences and regrets. God does not desire this kind of life for anyone, that’s why it’s important to wait patiently on the Lord and to truly know Him so you can be firmly rooted in him. That way you will not be shaken by any wave that comes your way especially when life gets rocky.

And my righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.” Hebrews 10:38 NLT

Believers should not be too bothered with their worldly image, and what people say about them. we must not desire to be applauded by this world more than by God. Believers must desire to please God in both the good and the bad seasons. Let our faith in the LORD remain firm and watch him move us to greater heights of understanding and Christlikeness.

Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives. Galatians 4:19 NLT

God does not always show us what He is up to when things are quiet, but I believe He is always at work within us, around us and for our own good. we might not see or understand at the moment, but at the end of the season we will see the reason, thank Him for the season and praise Him for the seasons.

May the Almighty and Faithful God, Father of Our LORD Jesus Christ bless you and keep you in peace that surpasses all standing through Christ Our Lord! Amen.
