God is not telling us to figure it out on our own then seek Him, but rather seek Him and we will find Him and when we find Him we find life, because He is Life.
Everyone has a story worth telling. No one chose whom, how, where and by what circumstances they came into this world. But one thing’s for sure, we are not here by mistake. No one is a mistake. Life is a precious gift from God.
Psalm 139:13, For it was you who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
God never errors, He is very intentional about you and I. Even if the circumstances you and I were born in were not favorable, He is faithful and true to His nature. He is able to change every life story.
Psalm 139:14, I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wondrous, and I know this very well.
God loves us so much beyond our human comprehension and there is nothing you and I can do to change that. God is love, and every good thing comes from Him because it is an extension of His nature. He wants us to live our lives fully knowing that He is our Heavenly Father who cares for us, loves us, knows us and wants what’s best for us even when we feel like we are a mess or suffer for various reasons. He is always with us in the mess and He always walks us through it all. He is not afraid of our mess.
Beloved, That is Our Heavenly Father who made us in His own Image and Likeness. He knows our names and He crafted every detail of our being so uniquely and intricately and that is how much loved we are. You and I were fearfully and wonderfully made. That’s a fact we must remember always. We must speak God’s truth over our lives and see ourselves from the lens of His eyes which is His truth. So when you and I look into the mirror we should be seeing ourselves in His truth as children of God, beloved, cherished, chosen and called.
This is an important truth, God wants us to not just read, say and hear, but He wants us to feel it and believe it because it is true. God is true. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He neither lies nor changes and It’s in His nature to be good, so we can trust in His word. God is His word.
Romans 8:39 tells us, No power in the sky above or in the earth below-indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. emphasis on “nothing” and ” can separate” Now I will say Amen to that.
Indeed, He has made so many great promises to us and we can count on Him to keep them all.
The scriptures tell us in Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Now, that is a fact we can trust. In the following verses lies the promises in Jeremiah 29:12-13 In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.
God has promised you and I, that when we seek Him diligently we will find Him. When we seek Him we will find Him when we seek Him with all of our heart. Key word being “all of our hearts”.
He wants us to approach Him in Faith as His beloved children, knowing that He is good and true to His word, He will never leave us nor forsake us and neither fail us. As it is written, Those who trust in the Lord will never be put to shame. I think it makes a lot of sense to trust in the word of Him who is everlasting, whose words do not change for eternity.
Matthew 6:33, But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
In the gospel of Mathew Jesus says seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all shall be added unto thee. When we seek Him first it means He becomes the centre of our lives.
It’s very clear here that God is not hiding from us, rather He is making it clear that we can actually find Him and we all know the way is through Jesus Christ. How he lived His life not for Himself but for the glory of the Father. He is our perfect blueprint. He is the way, the truth and the life. He is the Door, the Shepherd and the Vine. If it’s Him we are truly seeking with the fullness of our hearts. Then He will reveal Himself more to us. What does that require from us? We must have the faith that when we draw nearer and when we seek His kingdom and righteousness with all of our hearts we will know Him and reflect His nature more and more.
These are but some of the promises from our father in Heaven and we can actually trust that when we truly submit to His will we will encounter Him. He promises us In James 4:8, that when we draw near to Him He will draw nearer to us. Isn’t it lovely to have such sure and trustworthy promises from God?
This is the mega chess board of all chess boards and believers have now been invited to make a bold move by the creator of all things. What a massive privilege, God has already made the move of the universe and now it’s our turn. The invitation has not expired but the clock is ticking. Tik…..tok…tik….tok.
God is not telling us to figure it out on our own then seek Him, but rather seek Him and we will find Him and when we find Him we find life because He is Life. He wants us to know that our lives are from Him and for Him, for His great purposes and glory.
With each day and each season, He wants us to remember that we are not here by mistake, and that our lives have value, worth and purpose in both good and bad seasons. He is very able to work all things out together for our good. God knows every challenge we face and His promise to us is that He will never leave us nor forsake us, so every heavy burden you carry release it to Him today, that weight lets it go at His feet. There is nothing in this world that he does not know about. He knows and understands every feeling, burden and worries we may carry and that’s why we have to trust in Him by laying it all at His feet.
Beloved, Jesus is knocking at the doors of our hearts and It’s upon us to answer that call. The call to follow Him each day fixing our gaze upon Him whether we understand the season or not.
Seeking God is not out of compulsion, force or ritual. It is a relationship. It’s one thing to profess faith and it’s another thing to pick up the cross and follow Jesus each single day of our lives.
God is more interested in shaping our characters more than He is in changing our circumstances. I will repeat that again. Who we are is more important to God than what we have. Each day, we should aim to do, say and act from our relationship with Jesus. We should desire to please God more than anything in this perishing world.
The Bible says delight in the Lord and He will grant you the desires of your heart. It’s about knowing Him, loving Him and trusting him more than what we can receive or get from Him. The more we walk with Jesus, the more we realize it’s less about us but more of Him. It’s all about what God wants to do through us, than what we can do for Him. He does not need us but He wants us.
It only requires a fully surrendered and submitted heartful yes to Jesus, and to His perfect will for us no matter the costs. Jesus says come. Nobody needs to have it figured out. The Lord says come as you are. I am the vine and you are the branches. Abide in me and I will abide in you. Outside me you cannot bear any fruit. God wants to use us. It is his power at work within us. He is able to use your life and mine for His glory, as long as we can trust in Him even in our weakness and feebleness.
Matthew 5:14, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Do not limit what God can do through your life. Do not limit who God made you to be just to feel accepted, validated and fit in. You were not created to fit it. You were created for a time such as this. For a purpose greater than yourself, that can only be found in Him. You were called to be a light in a dark world. A city on a hill that cannot be hidden. So stop hiding and start shining bright Child of God. This world needs to see Jesus through you.
Now, the big questions to ask oneself are:
- What is standing between you and the Lord?
- Are you willing to trust Him fully with all of your heart and in surrender to His perfect will for your life?
- Are you willing to submit all of your will to the Lordship of Jesus Christ?
- Are you willing to center Jesus before any major or minor decisions?
- Do you think about what you speak and think about yourself and others?
- Is the world dictating and defining your life and choices or Jesus?
- Who has more influence in your daily life, thoughts, feelings and worldview?
- Are you too comfortable with where you are at with your relationship to God or do you crave for more of His presence in your life?
- Have you allowed Satan to deceive you into doubting your value, worth and identity?
- Are you striving to be accepted by God or by men?
- Do you desire more of God and are you excited and ready for the return of the Lord?
- Will you let Jesus have the final say in your life?
- Last but not least, Is Jesus Christ the Lord of your heart?
